Purpose

To implement a Convention for the protection of migratory birds in Canada and the United States.

Reason of Hearing

Where a Compliance Order (CO) has been issued, the person to whom the CO was directed may request a review (s. 11.27 of MBCA).

Review Officer's Role

The Review Officer may confirm or cancel the CO, or amend, suspend, add or delete a term or condition of the EPCO (s. 11.3 of MBCA and s. 263 of CEPA).

Next Steps

The Minister or the person to whom the CO was directed may appeal the decision of the Review Officer to the Federal Court - Trial Division (s. 11.3 of MBCA and s. 269 of CEPA).
